Francorp makes
"winning" franchises: Eye Asian Expansion
Top
clients of Francorp Philippines have been sweeping major
awards this year, the most recent being the Franchise Excellence
Awards (FEA) rites held at The Peninsula Manila. This makes
Francorp the most-sought after developer of winning franchise
concepts.
FEA is the most prestigious and “only” official award of distinction
that honors the best franchise companies in the Philippines today in
terms of outstanding, innovative and excellent franchise operations,
strategies and practices. The award is given annually by the Philippine
Franchise Association in cooperation with the Department of
Trade and Industry, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry
and the Philippine Retailers Association.
Voted as Outstanding Filipino Franchise for 2003 were
Max’s Restaurant (Food Category) and Crystal Clear
(Non-Food Category), which has 250 stores nationwide and is present
in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The Most
Promising Filipino Franchise of the Year award went to BAYO
(Retail Category) and Reyes Haircutters (Service Category),
while Potato Corner bagged the Hall of Fame Award for an
Outstanding Filipino Franchise (Kiosk Category).
Previous FEA winners such as Jollibee, Goldilocks, Chowking, Bench,
Max’s Restaurant, Kameraworld, Pancake House, Kamiseta, Netopia
Internet Café and Candy Corner, are noted Francorp clients at one
time or another.
Last year, Francorp clients also reaped major awards in
Entrepreneur 10 Awards given by The Entrepreneur Magazine to
Bo’s Coffee Club, Crystal Clear, Islands Souvenirs, Plains & Prints,
and Reyes Haircutters among others.
The well-respected Agora Awards by the Philippine
Marketing Association (PMA) had also recognized Bench, Penshoppe
and Islands Souvenirs in the past. Francorp clients have also
been distinguished winners of the Outstanding Retailer of the
Year Awards hosted by the Philippine Retailers Association
and the Merchant of the Year Awards of the Ayala Land
Corporation.
Just recently, Jollibee’s CEO, Tony Tan Caktiong, emerged as one of
the top winners of The Entrepreneur of the Year Award
sponsored by the SGV Foundation, DTI and Ernst & Young. He was among
the 18 finalists honored together with Islands Souvenirs and Bo’s
Coffee Club. Companies like Padi’s Point and Penshoppe have also won
in the Aurelio Periquet Awards for Business Leadeship.
Beaming with pride, Francorp
Philippines Chairman, Samie Lim, expressed his elation over
these recognition bestowed on Francorp clients. “Their success is
proudly ours which is why Francorp makes it a point to support them
all the way – be it as they take their first baby steps in
franchising, or during the peak of their growth and even during
difficult economic times. We try to be there for them every step of
the way,” Mr. Lim said.
“That Francorp clients get cited by prestigious institutions such as
the DTI, PFA, PRA, Philippine Marketing Association, The
Entrepreneur Magazine, and the SGV Foundation/Ernst & Young, speaks
of Francorp’s ability to mold and turn around companies into leaders
and benchmarks in the industry, worthy to be emulated by fellow
entrepreneurs. We try to develop winning business strategies and
professionally made franchise operations for our clients, which are
important ingredients in building a good business foundation,” Lim
said.
With over 25 years of combined franchise experience, Francorp is the
leading franchise development and consulting firm worldwide with 11
international offices offering global solutions to every
franchisor’s needs. Collectively, Francorp has developed over 2,000
franchises and advised nearly 8,000 companies in their expansion.
Francorp Philippines, meanwhile has been at the helm of franchise
growth in the Philippines since 1998, launching at least 100 hundred
franchises since its inception at various levels in virtually every
industry segment. Today, it continues to revolutionize the country’s
franchise landscape by inspiring hundreds of entrepreneurs to become
the next generation of franchise successes and prime movers.
“Francorp has worked with some of the best-known companies in the
world and in the Philippines, yet many of our clients start
small, and have such inspiring success stories to tell. Large or
small, humble or tall, emerging or existing, we are proud of our
clients’ achievements and innovations. We value the business
relationships we have with them,” Lim added.
With its success in the Philippines, Francorp sets its sight on
expanding its presence in Asia, particularly in countries like
China, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam where a huge franchise market
remains untapped. “At present, Francorp is searching for the right
local partner or licensee with the appropriate management/marketing
consultancy and/or legal background to set-up and launch Francorp
operations in these countries,” Mr. Lim announced.
